- How does Hair Removal work? -
Laser hair removal uses technology in which a beam of light is applied to unwanted hair on various parts of the
body. This light is a specific wavelength that targets the melanin—the pigment in the hair that gives it color, in
the hair follicle. When the light enters the follicle, it is converted to heat energy that destroys / inactivates the
follicle, preventing the hair from growing again.
There are three stages of hair growth. They are: Anagen—active growth; Catagen—a brief phase in which
growth stops and resting begins, and Telogen—a resting phase in which no further growth occurs. In order
for laser treatments to be effective, hair must be in the active growth stage—Anagen. Because individual hairs
are at different stages of growth at any given time, multiple laser treatments are required to target all of them
when they are in the Anagen stage. This is the reason that each subsequent treatment must be spaced out
appropriately.
- What is an 810 Diode? -
Often referred to as the gold standard in hair removal, the Diode laser 810nm wavelength is highly reliable, has
high papilla absorption, and can address a wide range of skin types, including skin types V and VI. Laser energy is
selectively absorbed by melanin (brown) in the hair follicle and converted to heat, injuring the hair follicle during

810nm Diode has been clinically proven to be safe and effective for hair removal. Diode lasers deliver high

- What does it do? -
Diode lasers use a single wavelength of light that has a high abruption rate in melanin. As the melanin heats
up it destroys the root and blood flow to the follicle disabling the hair growth permanently. When directed
at a target area, the light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. By allowing only the hair follicle to be
damaged, preserving surrounding tissue will make your treatment process as comfortable as possible.
- How does the Spectrum 810 Diode from other laser treatments? -
The 810 Diode on the Spectrum laser has built-in contact cooling to protect the surface of the skin, making the

- What to expect? -
Hair grows in cycles, making it necessary to receive a series of treatments. This varies from patient to patient.
Each treatment is spaced between 4-6 weeks apart and a minimum of 6 treatments is recommended.
- Pre-treatment -
Please shave 12-24 hours before (all treatments). Do not tan for two to four weeks prior (technician will advise).
Remove all makeup, lotion, and deodorant. Do not wax, thread, or tweeze for two to four weeks prior. A thin layer
of gel is applied to the skin to allow for a smooth glide of the handpiece. A gentle warming sensation of the skin
will be apparent and very tolerable. Shave one day before treatment, do not pluck or wax. Avoid sun exposure for
approximately 4 weeks prior to treatment, tanned skin has extra melanin (pigment) which attracts laser energy
from targeting the hair follicle.
- Post-treatment -
There is no downtime associated with this treatment and patients may resume their normal activities. Avoid
picking or scratching skin, do not use any other hair removal during treatment (waxing, electrolysis, or tweezing).
Wash and pat dry for 3 days and on the 4th day start gently exfoliating. SPF is always recommended post
treatment. Be advised that treated hair can take one to two weeks to be excreted from the body, and to fall out.
Feel free to shave between treatments. Do not wax, thread, tweeze, or use depilatory products—this will remove
the hair follicles, making it impossible to remove the hair with laser. Do not exercise, take hot showers, or use hot
tubs or saunas for 12-48 hours.
- How long does a treatment take? -
Depends on size of area, each area can take 10-15 minutes.

- When will I see results? How long do they last? -
You can begin to see hair fall out in approximately 1-3 weeks post-treatment. Laser hair removal can only
damage hair that is in its active growth stage. Although hair will appear thinner and less noticeable with just

treatment sessions of laser hair removal, you can enjoy long-lasting hair reduction. Hair removal is not 100%

- What is Tattoo and Pigment Removal? -
The “Q” in Q switched laser treatment stands for “quality.” A Q switched laser pulses high power laser beams with
such precision that they don’t have any thermal interaction with tissues. This means that it produces minimal
damage to surrounding tissues internally and targets only the tattoo ink pigments. An added benefit of this is
a quicker and less complicated healing time. The Q Switched laser has been determined as a gold standard for
tattoo removal. It works by producing extremely short pulses of high energy light. The light is then absorbed by
the particles of the tattoo pigment but doesn’t get absorbed by the surrounding skin. The tattoo pigment then
heats up and starts to break down into small particles. A Q-Switch laser may also be used to treat pigmented

- What to expect? -
The laser tattoo removal itself may not be uncomfortable but discomfort is a normal response during treatment
and recovery. The targeted areas will feel tender and sensitive to touch due to swelling and blistering thereafter.
Once these effects subside over the next few days, so does the pain. Immediately after treatment, you will notice
frosting on the area where the laser came in contact with the ink. It is caused by the rapid local heating of skin
pigment releasing carbon dioxide on the surface of the skin which resembles white frosting. This signals the first
stage of healing and it lasts for only a few minutes. More frosting occurs with dark ink compared to lighter ink.
This is accompanied by swelling around the treated area. Redness, tenderness and swelling usually subside a
day or two after treatment. Blisters start forming within 24 hours after treatment and they may appear alarming,
but these indicate that your body is healing as it should. Avoid picking on your blisters because they will drain on
their own and dry into scabs. The crust will eventually fall off within 10-14 days after treatment granted that the
area doesn’t get irritated. One may even return to your usual activities shortly after treatment. The area will be
bandaged to keep it dry for a few days following the treatment.
- How does it feel? -
Laser tattoo removal typically does involve some level of pain. That said, many say that it hurts less than they
expected. It’s a common belief that tattoo removal is excruciating, yet most patients say that the sensation of
removal is comparable to having a tattoo applied. Common descriptions include the sensation of a rubber band
snapping against the skin or bacon grease – basically it’s uncomfortable but bearable.
- Pre treatment -
Avoid sun exposure / tanning beds for 2 weeks pre and post. Avoid pain medicine, such as Aleve, Aspirin for
3-7 days. Topical numbing cream or local anesthetic may used and cold compress may be applied a prior to
treatment.
- Post treatment -
Keep out of the sun, out of pools/lakes/bath water until healed. Apply recovery balm and keep it covered for 5-6
days while healing. Apply ice 10 minutes post treatment. Basic reminders:
• Use sunscreen to protect the treated skin which is particularly sensitive to sunlight following treatment.
• Don’t apply makeup or any potentially irritating product on treated skin while it heals.
• Avoid shaving treated areas unless the skin is healed.
• Don’t soak in baths, hot tubs or pools unless the skin has healed completely.
- How long does a treatment take? -
Depending on the size of the treated area(s), after numbing, treatments can take several minutes up to an hour.
The number of sessions needed to remove a tattoo depends on three factors: the age of the tattoo, the color of
the ink, and the density of the ink.
• Age: Older tattoos can be removed with fewer treatments than newer tattoos. A black ink tattoo that is 10
years old may take one or two treatments fewer than a 1 year old black tattoo. A 20 year old tattoo may take
two to three treatments fewer than a 1 year old tattoo, but it’s easy to remove if your tattoo is brand new (1
month old).
• Color: Certain colors are more easily removed than others. Black and red tattoos are the easiest to remove.
Orange, yellow, pink, and other shades are slightly more difficult to remove. The most difficult colors to
remove are light green, light blue, and teal/turquoise.
• Location: Because tattoo removal depends on the body to flush away the shattered ink particles, areas of
the body with less circulation often take more time to show results. The toes, fingers, ears, and nose are
areas that may show slower results.
• Ink Density: Shading in a tattoo is easily removed. Some tattoos with letters use shading to fill in the
outlines of the letters. Some tattoos with certain designs use shading for clouds or other visual effect.
Shading will be removed in only a few sessions in most cases.
- When will I see results? How long do they last? -
The sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart, which allows your skin to process the treatment. Many
people start to see their ink fade slightly after each subsequent session and greater improvement after three
appointments. Given six to eight weeks between each session, you can expect the results to start showing a few
months after the process starts.

The Spectrum’s long pulsed Yag laser will diminish the appearance of existing veins on the face and legs. Once
the laser light is applied to the skin, it enters the vein, where the energy from the laser is absorbed and the
vein walls collapse and seal shut, eliminating the vein’s appearance on the skin. Eliminating veins with the long
pulsed Yag laser is quick and effective.
- How does it work? -
The laser gives energy to the skin, which is absorbed by blood vessels, scars, port wine stains, hemangiomas,

- What is IPL? -
Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a cosmetic skin treatment. People may use it to reduce the signs of aging,
pigmentation, vasculature, reduce acne, or remove unwanted hair. An IPL treatment uses the power of
broadband light to deliver pulses of intense light to penetrate the layers of the skin. Most patients describe
experiencing a fast, pinching sensation during treatment, with minimal discomfort. There is no need for
injections or incisions, giving patients the bonus of no downtime required.
- What is unique about IPL? -
Unlike lasers, an IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light. It can treat a range of skin
conditions at the same time. After IPL, you may look younger because your skin tone is more even. While laser
therapy uses a set wavelength depending on the procedure, intense pulsed light therapy uses multiple different
wavelengths of light released in pulses. You can think of it as a strobe light passing along the skin. IPL isn’t a
focused beam like a laser. It instead is dispersed beams of light that work together. As the light penetrates
down to the second layer of skin, it allows the cells to absorb its energy, heat up, and eventually destroy the
pigmentation within the cell. This is how age spots, other discoloring blemishes, moles, birthmarks, and rosacea

- How does it work? -
IPL works on the same principles as laser in that light energy is absorbed by targeted cells (chromophores)

area. IPL systems are different to lasers in that they deliver many wavelengths (or colors) in each pulse of light
instead of just one wavelength. This technology use filters to refine the energy output for the treatment of
certain areas. This enhances penetration without using excessive energy levels and enables targeting of specific
chromophores (skin components that absorb light). The light heats cells in the skin and breaks them down. The
body then removes the damaged tissue naturally.
- Does it help anti-aging / stimulate collagen? -
IPL will stimulate collagen growth by treating a deeper layer of skin, while improving texture, and reducing the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- How does it feel? -
During the procedure, people may feel a pinching sensation. Some individuals have described this as a feeling
similar to an elastic band being “snapped” on the skin. Sensation is moderate and very tolerable.
- How long does a treatment take? -
Average treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes.
- What to expect? -
• Your skin may be temperature sensitive for several days after treatment. Brown spots and freckles will appear

• Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area and use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater for 4 to 6 weeks after

• No swimming for a week, especially in pools with chemicals such as chlorine.
• No strenuous exercise for 48 hours. You can hit the gym after about 2 days post-therapy.
• No hot tubs or Jacuzzis for 48 hours.
• Avoid activities that cause excessive perspiration for 24 hours.
• Do not pick at or remove any loosening or peeling skin.
• No electrolysis, facial waxing, or depilatories (hair removal products) for 14 days after a treatment.
- Before your appointment -
• It is imperative that you avoid significant sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to your
treatment.
• Avoid applying self-tanner for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Avoid aspirin and Ibuprofen for one week prior to your treatment. Inform the doctor if you are taking blood
thinners or regularly take aspirin or ibuprofen.
• Avoid alcohol for 2 days prior to treatment.
• Inform the doctor if have taken Accutane (oral acne medication) in the past year.
- Pre-treatment, day of appointment -
• If possible, arrive without creams or make-up on the treatment area. Otherwise please arrive 10 minutes prior
to your appointment in order to clean the skin. Cleansing products are available for your convenience.
• Allow approximately 45 minutes for your appointment depending on the size of the treatment area.
• Pre-treatment photos will be taken.

The short answer is no. Healing after an IPL treatment varies with the patient although in most cases takes less
than a week and as little as a few hours to days. Immediately after the treatment you may notice some minor
redness and swelling, similar to that of a sunburn. Ice packs or a cool washcloth can be used as needed. If treating
freckles and other dark spots, you may experience dryness and flaking of the treated area. Some of the spots
may appear darker, but they should slough off within a few days. You can apply makeup immediately after an IPL
treatment if desired. Avoid heavy exertion and activities which may cause flushing of the skin for three days after
treatment.
- When will I see results? How long do they last? -
Pigment
It will take four to six weeks to see the full results from a single treatment, however you should see dark spots
fade and slough off within a week. If you complete a series of treatments about one month apart, the maximum
results will be visible in two to three months after the last treatment.
Veins
The results of IPL begin to appear right after treatment and continue to improve over the next few days to weeks.
It does take some time for veins to fully collapse and be reabsorbed by the body, so full results cannot be seen
right away. If symptoms accompanied the spider veins, they are usually relieved immediately after treatment.
- How many treatments will I need? -
Depending on the indication of treatment, for best IPL results it is generally recommended that patients receive,

- How does Erbium differ from other laser treatments? -
Unlike a CO2 laser, an erbium laser is a gentler approach to the skin, hence why it is named the “micro laser
peel.” The erbium laser is usually more of a superficial treatment than a CO2 laser and will help treat fine lines,
some hyperpigmentation, and mild scarring.
- Does it help anti-aging / stimulate collagen? -
Ablative and non-ablative Erbium laser resurfacing stimulate collagen reorganization and fibroblast activation
in photoaged skin. Ablative resurfacing, as on the Spectrum laser, will yield more significant results in a shorter
period of time.
- What to expect? -
Topical numbing cream is typically used to help mitigate any discomfort. Mild erythema (redness) can last a few
hours up to a few days depending on the severity of the treatment. Mild sunburn sensation that may include
some mild discomfort may persist for up to 24-48 hours. Patients may use ice to sooth areas of discomfort. A few
days after mild peeling of the skin will begin, do not pick.
- How does it feel? -
The Erbium laser provides a safer, more accurate and less painful method of restoring a softer, smoother, more
youthful-appearing skin. Patients can have their procedure performed in the doctor’s office and be home that
same day.
- Pre-treatment -
Cannot be performed on tanned skin, please stay out of the sun. Avoid direct exposure to the sun / tanning beds
4 weeks prior to treatment. Wear broad spectrum SPF, pretreat if prone to cold sores.
- Post-treatment -
Clean the skin with a gentle cleanser and apply recovery balm several times a day until evidence of dryness,
blistering, or swelling has disappeared. Can be a little temperature sensitive. Avoid exfoliants, scrubbing, chlorine,
hot tubs, and swimming pools while healing.
- How long does a treatment take? -
Average treatment takes approximately 20 minutes.
- Will I need to take time off? -
Recovery times will vary depending on your treatment. Skin should start sloughing off 2-3 days after the
treatment, a rosy “glow” can remain for several weeks. Make-up may be applied to minimize redness. Generally,
2-3 days off should be sufficient, 3-5 days for more aggressive treatments.
- When will I see results? How long do they last? -
The top layer of skin will re-grow and can be covered with makeup within about one week, at which time you will
see noticeable improvements in your skin’s texture, tone, and wrinkle appearance. Deeper laser treatments also
stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next four to six months.
- How many treatments will I need? -
Number of treatments vary depending on desired results. Recommended 1-3 sessions, treatment once per
month.
- Can I exercise? -
Use soft cloth and soft towels to avoid any scrubbing. When showering, avoid getting shampoo directly on the
treated area. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until after skin has healed.
- Are there any side effects? -
Mild complications of Erbium:YAG laser resurfacing include milia, acne exacerbation, contact dermatitis,
or perioral dermatitis. Moderate complications include prolonged erythema, transient posttreatment
hyperpigmentation, and delayed hypopigmentation.
- Is it safe? -
Yes, Erbium:YAG treatments have been proven to be safe and effective for the right patient.
- Who is a good candidate? -
Patients with realistic expectations and mild to moderate skin conditions. If you have fine lines or wrinkles
around your eyes or mouth or on your forehead, shallow scars from acne, or non-responsive skin after a facelift,

- What does it do / how does it work? -
Pixel8 RF microneedling combines two technologies commonly used for skin rejuvenation, radiofrequency
and skin needling. RF technology relies on the resistance within the skin itself to convert RF energy into heat
(thermal energy). This thermal energy causes collagen contraction and stimulation of collagen making cells
(fibroblasts) to produce more collagen. Traditional skin microneedling causes physical trauma to the skin and
through stimulation of the body’s own wound healing response also stimulates fibroblasts to produce more
collagen. When combined, fractionated RF microneedling gives enhanced results than could not be achieved
with either technology alone. Clinical studies show that microneedling RF can address the causes of aging,
significantly reducing wrinkles and age spots while tightening and lifting the skin on the face and neck with
minimal downtime and discomfort. It is less invasive than injectables and laser skin resurfacing while restoring
youthful radiance.

- How does RF Microneedling differ from other laser treatments? -
Lasers can help on a variety of levels to resurface the skin by repairing damage caused by the sun, aging, or scars.
RF microneedling treatments offer similar resurfacing results, with less downtime and for all skin types that may
make it a better option for some patients.

- Does Pixel8 RF build collagen? -
Yes. By itself, microneedling is capable of stimulating a higher production of collagen over time. However, when
combined with radiofrequency, the effectiveness of these treatments increases tremendously due to how much
more deeply the thermal energy of radiofrequency can reach the sub-dermal layers of skin.

- What to expect? -
As with all medical procedures, a consultation and examination are necessary prior to Pixel8 RF microneedling.
For comfort during the treatment, a topical anesthetic cream is recommended over the area to be treated
at least 30-45 minutes prior to the procedure being performed. During the procedure the device hand piece
is passed over the skin. The fine needles penetrate the skin and the RF energy is delivered once the needles
reach the desired depth (each pulse is less than 1 second). The procedure takes approximately 20-30 minutes to
complete but will vary depending on the area/s being treated. Immediately following treatment your skin will
feel warm but will not be painful, much like a mild sunburn. Over the following day(s) there may be mild redness
and swelling. Bruising is uncommon.

- What results can I expect? -
• 1 day after the treatment there could be redness and transient edema (swelling).
• 3 days - 1 week post treatment your skin tone would be brighter and more even. If you have oily skin, you will
notice significant reduction in sebum production.
• 1 month post treatment of RF Microneedling you would notice improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, and skin
laxity. Improvement in pores size, scars, and over all complexion is also significantly noticeable.
• 1–3-month post RF Microneedling treatment you will notice continuous improvement in wrinkles reduction
and skin laxity. Collagen production has improved and you can notice the fullness and plumpness of your
skin.

- How does it feel? -
The majority of patients tolerate the 20–30-minute Pixel8 RF microneedling treatment well. To help minimize
discomfort during RF microneedling, a topical numbing agent is applied to the skin prior to treatment. Patients
may notice a warm sensation and a pricking or scraping feeling during this treatment, but it is not typically
painful. Following Pixel8 RF microneedling, it is normal to have some level of redness, swelling, irritation, and
mild discomfort, but these symptoms usually resolve quickly on their own within hours.

- Pre-treatment -
Recommended: Avoid Accutane for the past 6 months. Do not use topical agents that may increase sensitivity
of skin: retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, acids that may be drying or irritating to the skin (such as alpha
hydroxyl acid (AHA) beta hydroxyl acids (BHA), exfoliating masks, salicylic acids, hydroquinone, and benzoyl
peroxide acne products) 5-7 days prior. Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin
or Advil for 3 days prior to treatment. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is
critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation. Avoidance of IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure
or sunburn for 2 weeks prior. No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis to area being treated 5-7 days prior.
No shaving the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there is dense hair present in the treatment area,
closely shave the area the day before you arrive to your appointment. Moles, warts or actinic (solar) keratosis
should not be treated. If you are prone to cold sores, take antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and day of treatment.
Avoid blood thinning agents (aspirin, fish oil, Omega-3, Vitamin E) for 1 week prior. May resume day after
treatment.

- Post-treatment -
You should avoid harsh topical products or alcohol-based toners for 2 weeks. You can resume your normal skin
care regimen after 24 hours. Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen Motrin or Advil
for 1 week. Do not ice face or use arnica or bromelain. These agents may interfere with the natural inflammatory
process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation. You should avoid vigorous activity right after
the treatment. You should avoid excessive heat or sun exposure for at least 1 week. Use sunblock with SPF 30 of
higher.

- How long does a treatment take? -
Sessions generally take 20-30 minutes, based on the area being treated. For patients requiring more intensive
sessions, the duration of a session may run 30 minutes to 45 minutes long. Most patients will begin to see
improvement after a single session, however, to complete your aesthetic goals, it is recommended that patients
do upwards of three sessions.

- Why People Are Fans of Pixel8 RF Treatments? -
Pixel8 RF treatments are beloved by many, because this procedure is quite tolerable, recovering is quick and easy,
and it yields great results. Getting treatment shouldn’t interfere with your schedule too much, either, as most
people return to normal routines within the next day.

- Will I need to take time off? -
No, there should be no significant downtime from the treatment.

- When will I see results? How long do they last? -
You can expect improvements in the first few weeks after your initial treatment. These improvements will
increase over the next six months, as your body continuously produces new collagen.

- How many treatments will I need? -

Yes.

- Can it be used on all skin types? -

- Is it safe? -
Yes. People are exposed to low levels of man-made radio frequencies daily. Devices such as TV, WiFi, and phones
are one of the many examples of frequencies are exposed to. Studies have shown possible known risks with RF
are potential burns made from thermal heating effects for people under the influence of high doses. However,
the Pixel8 RF procedure uses a minimal amount of RF required under trained skincare specialists in order to
ensure the best and safe results possible.

- Who is a good candidate? -
The Pixel8 RF microneedling device can be used on all skin types, anywhere on the body and all months of the
